10 Rules for Jewels

1.  It is your jewelry, and your jewelry must therefore also suit YOU. Don't be distracted by the hype of the day and choose a style that suits you.

2. Just as you pay attention to the color combination in your choice of clothing, you also do the same with the color combination of the gemstones you choose. Consider, for example, the color of your skin, hair, and eyes. (I will assist you if you’d like)

3. Try to avoid making things too messy. Therefore, I would highly recommend choosing a maximum of two precious metals.

4. Traditionally it is "not done" to wear a watch to a gala. After all, it is the intention that you have a great time, and it is therefore not necessary to keep an eye on the time. This is of course not necessary, but it is advisable to wear a graceful watch instead of a large and robust one.

5. Your jewelry is dear to you. It was bought for a special moment and therefore deserves special treatment. A piece of jewelry is not a tool.

6. Keep them in a specially designed jewelry box. Another box is of course also allowed, as long as the jewelry cannot damage each other.

7. Do you have a job in the prospect that could damage the jewelry? Take them off for a moment, it is a shame if a scratch or dent occurs.

8. Give your jewelry the attention it deserves. Therefore I would advise you to wear only one piece (one ring, one necklace).

9. Products such as hairspray and make-up can dull and damage the jewelry. Do not put them on until you have finished dressing up and styling your hair.

10. You do well to take off your rings when washing your hands. Soap residue adheres to the rings and kills the brilliance of the stones.

BONUS: Jewelry needs maintenance. It is therefore wise to have them checked every year by the jeweler or goldsmith. Negligence can cause the loss of a stone and of course, no one wants that. Also nice, the jeweler or goldsmith can immediately clean them nicely, so that they shine just like the first day.
